National Astronomy Week
National Astronomy Week (NAW) 2025 runs from 1st to 9th February. During this period every bright planet apart from Mercury will be in the evening sky. The waxing Moon will pass close to each planet in turn. So the Week has the theme of "Chasing The Moon".
During the week we will be opening The Observatory on clear evenings with the exception of Monday night when TBGS will be using The Observatory. On Thursday night we will be open whatever the weather as we are also holding a Members Evening.
Don't forget to bring 50p along for a hot drink and a biscuit!
If we have to cancel an evening due to bad weather (rain, cloudy etc) we will post updates/decisions on our website.

We are also visiting a number of schools during the week at lunch times and after school to give theoretical and practical talks as part of our Outreach Programme.
